Riisitunturi Snowshoeing – Small Group Adventure

Slow adventure, the Finnish way.

Explore the snow-covered landscapes of Riisitunturi National Park on a relaxed small-group snowshoeing adventure.

This tour is for travellers who want to spend a few hours outdoors, walk through Riisitunturi's winter forests and open fell landscapes, and have enough time to stop, take photographs and enjoy where we are.

Come with a friend, as a couple or on your own. Solo travellers are very welcome.

We keep the group small, with a maximum of 8 participants.

Snowshoe, Stop and Look Around

We usually explore approximately 4–6 kilometres during our three hours in Riisitunturi.

The aim is not to cover as much distance as possible. Snow conditions, weather and the group determine our pace, and we leave time for viewpoints, photographs and small discoveries along the way.

Your local guide will also share stories and knowledge about Riisitunturi, northern nature and life through the seasons.

No previous snowshoeing experience is required. Walking in deep snow can be more demanding than ordinary hiking, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended.

A Warm Drink Along the Way

During the tour, we stop for a cup of hot berry juice and take some time to enjoy the surroundings.

We keep the standard tour simple so that most of our time can be spent exploring Riisitunturi. 

Come Solo, Share the Trail

Travelling alone doesn't mean you need to explore alone.

This small-group departure is an easy way for solo travellers to experience Riisitunturi with a local guide and share the trail with a few other travellers.

You can book just one place. The tour operates when we have a minimum of 2 participants in total – you don't need to find the other participant yourself.

If the minimum number is not reached, we will let you know by 19:00 on the previous evening. You can then choose another available departure or receive a full refund.
