OULANKA CANYON TOUR - EXTENDED
Experience the northernmost part of Oulanka National Park, the canyon and Taivalköngäs rapids on a private excursion.
Imagine a view of a river with crystal clear water flowing in a deep gorge, surrounded by ancient taiga forest. Feel the soft moss under your bare feet and breathe in the fresh air of the pine trees. Welcome to the Oulanka Canyon—a truly unforgettable corner of Finnish Lapland!
This full-day hike takes you deep into the northern part of Oulanka National Park. We follow River Oulankajoki, pass the clear waters of Kirkasvetinen, stop to admire the roaring Taivalköngäs rapids, and follow part of Finland’s legendary Karhunkierros Trail (The Bear’s Trail). Your local guide will lead you to the Oulanka Canyon cliffs and down through forest trails to the wilderness hut. We walk along the edges of a deep gorge and cross suspension bridges over roaring rivers. Along the way, we’ll make a campfire to enjoy a freshly made trail meal of nettle pancakes and wild berry juice—simple, nourishing, and totally Finnish.
This is not just a hike—it's a connection to the landscape, history, and peace of the North.
