NIGHT SKY TOUR - PRIVATE

The night excursion with snowshoes is the gem of arctic nightlife.

Have you ever experienced a night sky full of stars, or arctic wintery silence around you? Stargazing and walking through the snow-covered, moonlit landscape, northern lights moving across the dark sky? This tour will leave you with a lasting connection with arctic nature when we take you on a journey to our favorite places to explore the night sky. Let's see what nature has for us tonight. If it is dark enough we'll maybe see 1000 stars. The starry sky is full of amazing stories. During this trip, you will learn to navigate according to the stars and hear stories about the mythological heroes running in the sky. You may find your own zodiac sign, spot the brightest star, and hear its many names in Arabic, Greek, and Sámi. We also see one star which is more than 600 times bigger than our own sun. Northern lights may also appear in the sky during the trip. Then it’s nice to lie on your back with a reindeer hide, watch them dance up there in the sky, and drink some warm cranberry juice.

At first, you'll shortly be introduced to snowshoeing, so no previous experience is needed. If you can walk a few kilometers on hilly paths with regular shoes, you are ok to go for a snowshoeing trip. Proper winter clothing and an adventurous mind are all you need. Your guide also listens carefully to the wishes of the group, so the length of the trip can be 2-5 km.

We will walk along the Big Bear's Trail and explore Valtavaara nature reserve area. On the top of a fell, we see the entire northern horizon. Your guide tells you stories about the nature around us and our cool arctic lifestyle.
