Waterfalls and Rapids of Oulanka National Park
Two rivers and a lot of rapids
Waterfalls, Rapids & 2 Rivers of Oulanka National Park
Follow the sound of rushing water into one of Finland’s most spectacular landscapes.
This full-day adventure takes you through the very best of Oulanka National Park — from roaring rapids and powerful waterfalls to forest trails and breathtaking viewpoints. It’s a journey through the wild north, where every turn reveals something new.
A day filled with iconic landscapes
We begin our journey in the southern part of the park, stepping onto a scenic section of the famous Little Bear’s Trail.
Along the way, we explore some of Oulanka’s most beautiful and photographed locations:
-
The Myllykoski rapids with suspended bridge and old mill (I guess you have seen the photos of this place)
-
The lively Aallokkokoski
-
The powerful Jyrävä waterfall
Here, the Kitkajoki river shows its true strength — carving through the landscape, shaping the forest around it.
From forest trails to roaring waters
After our first hike, we take a short drive deeper into the park. We then continue on foot along a peaceful riverside path leading to the majestic Kiutaköngäs rapids — the roaring heart of Oulanka. Here you'll meet the Oulankajoki river.
Campfire moment in nature
Of course, no MyTrail day is complete without a proper break.
We gather around a campfire to enjoy a hearty outdoor lunch and fresh coffee. Surrounded by forest and flowing water, this is a moment to slow down, recharge, and simply be. Because everything tastes better in nature.
