Oulanka Canyon Hike
Guided Adventure in Oulanka National Park's Northern Part, in Lapland
Experience the northern part of Oulanka National Park
on a private excursion.
Explore the dramatic beauty of Oulanka National Park on a guided hike to the breathtaking Oulanka River Canyon. Walk through ancient taiga forest, follow part of the famous Karhunkierros Trail, and enjoy unforgettable views from the cliffs above a crystal-clear river.
This private hiking tour is perfect for travelers who want to experience the wild, untouched nature of Lapland in a relaxed and personal way. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the area’s nature, wildlife, and cultural history.
The highlight of the tour is the narrow, stony canyon of the Oulanka River, one of the most iconic landscapes in the park. We’ll take our time to enjoy the trail, take photos, and stop at a beautiful riverside location where you’ll enjoy a campfire lunch of nettle pancakes and wild berry juice.
Imagine standing on the edge of a canyon, where a crystal-clear river winds through deep stone walls, surrounded by centuries-old pine and spruce. Feel the soft moss beneath your feet and breathe in the fresh scent of Lapland’s taiga forest. Now that is nature.
Join us for a guided hike to one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Finland – the Oulanka River Canyon. We’ll walk through wild, diverse forest along winding trails, until we reach the steep cliffs that rise above the canyon. The view is unforgettable.
Along the way, we follow part of the legendary Karhunkierros Trail (The Bear Trail) and take our time to pause, breathe, take photos, and enjoy the rhythm of the wild.
At the riverbank, near a hanging bridge, we stop for a trail lunch by the campfire – nettle pancakes and wild berry juice included.
