Explore the snow-covered landscapes of Riisitunturi National Park on a relaxed small-group snowshoeing adventure.
This tour is for travellers who want to spend a few hours outdoors, walk through Riisitunturi's winter forests and open fell landscapes, and have enough time to stop, take photographs and enjoy where we are.
Come with a friend, as a couple or on your own. Solo travellers are very welcome.
We keep the group small, with a maximum of 8 participants.

Tourablauf: Private Schneeschuhwanderung durch Riisitunturi, begleitet von unserem lokalen Guide, inklusive Geschichten über Natur, Kultur und Geschichte.
Besonderheiten: Märchenhafte, verschneite Bäume, stille Landschaft, Lagerfeuer-Pause mit Beerengetränk, Fotomöglichkeiten.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need snowshoeing experience?
No. Snowshoeing is easy to learn and we set the pace for the group. Walking in deep snow can be more demanding than ordinary hiking, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended.
What equipment is provided?
We provide snowshoes or ice grips (slip guards), depending on the route, and poles.
What should I wear?
Warm layers, a windproof outer layer, winter boots, a hat and gloves. If you need winter clothing, see our Rent Winter Clothing page. You can also read our winter clothing guide.
Where do you pick us up?
In the Ruka area (up to 5 km from Ruka Valley and Ruka Village) and in Kuusamo centre, or you can meet us at the trailhead.
What snacks do you serve? Can you take special diets into account?
We serve warm wild berry juice and trail snacks, and our food always features plenty of local ingredients and northern flavours. Special diets are no problem: please tell us at least 3 days in advance.
What happens if fewer than 4 people have booked?
This small-group tour runs with a minimum of 4 participants (maximum 8). If the minimum is not reached, we let you know by 19:00 on the previous evening. You can then choose another departure or receive a full refund.
Want to go alone or with your own group?
Ask for a private tour. Route, pace and start time are planned around you.
Can I change my date?
Yes. Date changes are free when requested more than 7 days before the tour, subject to availability.
