Is 4–6 hours enough for Riisitunturi National Park?
Yes. A 4–6 hour private tour gives us enough time to travel from Ruka to Riisitunturi and explore the national park at a more relaxed pace. The exact route depends on the season, weather, snow conditions and your preferred level of activity.
Can we visit Oulanka National Park from Ruka?
Yes. Oulanka is well suited to a 4–6 hour private experience from Ruka. Depending on the season and your interests, we can visit Kiutaköngäs Rapids, explore river and forest landscapes or hike a suitable section of the area's trails.
Should we choose Riisitunturi or Oulanka?
Choose Riisitunturi if you are looking for fell landscapes, open views and snow-covered spruce forests in winter. Oulanka offers rivers, rapids, old forests and varied hiking trails.
If you are not sure, your guide can recommend the better option based on the season, weather and current trail conditions.
Can we go snowshoeing?
Yes. During the snowy season, the experience can include snowshoeing when conditions and the chosen route make it appropriate. Snowshoes and poles are provided when needed.
How difficult is the tour?
That is largely up to you. A 4–6 hour private experience can be an easy and relaxed nature day or a more active hike. Tell us about your hiking experience and preferred pace, and we will choose the route accordingly.
Is transportation included?
Yes. Pickup and return from accommodation in Ruka or Kuusamo are included, and transportation is part of the booked 4–6 hours.
For destinations further away, such as Hossa, Salla, Korouoma or Syöte, we recommend the 7–9 hour Private Nature Guide experience.
